Moving Tips - What Not To Move
Moving The Wrong Items - A Costly Move
Moving can be a hectic time with closings, inspections, and the physical move happening in such a short period of time. The last thing anyone wants to do is pay for a crew to unload the truck in order to get items that were placed into it by error. Unfortunately this happens! Not only is it a costly mistake, but it creates scheduling problems that can result in delaying your move.
Moving Tips - Items Not To Move On The Truck
Personal items such as jewelry, money, wallets, credit cards, checkbooks, passports, important bank and insurance documents, airline or other tickets, laptop computers, cell phones and PDA's should not be placed on the moving truck. It is critical to safeguard these possessions on move day so they don't become part of the goods that go onto the truck.
Moving Advice - How To Make Sure Personal Items Don't Get Loaded By Mistake
The easiest way to prevent valuables from being loaded onto the truck is to make sure they are not in the house the day of your move. Let a neighbor or a friend hold them for you or place them in the locked trunk of your car. If this is not an option for you, place them in the Master Bathroom or Master Bedroom Closet. If they are placed in the Bathroom or Closet, close the door on the day of the move and place a sign on the door that says "Do Not Open - Nothing in here is to be packed or placed on the Moving Truck."
If you follow these simple tips, your move will go smoother and more efficiently.
